Clearing the Path
Autumn’s tempestuous lover
the North Wind
begins his yearly cleanse
sending birds and leaves alike
scattering before his might
temperatures drop like needles
from the pine trees
he struggles to clear the land
for his mistress Lady Winter
as he sweeps away the final
vestiges of Summer’s warmth

Living in the shadow of a massive deciduous tree, that wind is weaponizing the leaves to terrorise me. But that’s not a complaint! 😊

lol Oh my I can sympathize. Several times on desert hikes we got hit by wind gusts and dirt devils, sand moving at those speeds, sand STINGS!

Memories of being on the beach when winds were whipping around me at 60mph…and I was in a skirt. Yes, it stings, and can take the skin off, too
