First of all let me apologize, I’ve been more than a little lax in reading, commenting, and my own writing this week. A brief explanation, thanks to the strange iniquities in the US medical and insurance systems, it has been necessary for me to travel through several states to arrive at a medical facility that is within my insurance network in order to have a minor medical procedure done. Add to the fact that the procedure, while minor, includes the word “biopsy” and as you can probably guess, my mind has been a bit preoccupied. Rory over at aguycalledbloke has this new film/music challenge which is quite, well, challenging 😉 Do check it out and join in a little rockin’ of the old noggin’
This weeks entries are a bit more … obscure than last and I had to really shake the ole’ noodle loose OK and pester Superhubs a bit as his memory of release years is much better than mine. Continue reading “I am so tuned in to that film #3”
Whew! Thirty days of songs and lyric posting. I can’t remember the last time I actually stuck to a theme for this long. I’m hoping this is a trend! Today’s prompt: A song about drugs or alcohol. At first I was tempted to go with the old standard “Cocaine” or “Margaritaville” but I remembered this one and just had to share it. Enjoy

Today’s prompt: A song that makes you want to dance

Today’s prompt: a song that reminds you of summertime
I don’t know exactly why, maybe it’s just the sunshine but I have this on my summer play list and it keeps me dancing and singing and jivin’ at work and play. Enjoy a little sun in the middle of winter.

Today’s prompt: A song you like with a number in the title
I have no real reason for choosing this song other than I’ve always liked it. Tony Orlando’s voice, the peppy beat, slightly silly sentiment. It makes me think of summer days, hip hugger elephant bell bottoms, halter tops, bare feet and flowers in my hair. Yep, I was a hippie (still am really). For your consideration “Knock Three Times,” may it bring you a smile this first day of 2019.

OK, since I came into this late in order to complete the actual 30 days, I’m going back to the beginning and do the ones I missed. Here we go.
Today’s prompt: A song you like with a color in the title
For me this song is such a classic, under rated and under loved but such an important message. Give it a listen.

Today’s prompt: A song you remember from childhood
OK, first off, define “childhood.” I mean really, could pick just about anything up until 1979 when I kind of grew up (but not really). That being said, I grew up in a musical family. Not musically talented but musically inclined. We listened to music, lots of music, partly because we loved music and partly because my Dad loved to build stereo equipment. This has always been a favorite of mine. A tale of political positions, I find it fascinating that it remains as true today as it was when it was written nearly 60 years ago.

Today’s prompt is: A song by an artist whose voice you love.
This is really, really hard, I mean there are so many. There are lots of strong, classically beautiful voices out there from Pavarotti to Adele both of whom I love. There are also voices I love that aren’t classically beautiful but carry such emotion you just stop and go WOW such as Rod McKuen and Rod Stewart. I’m going to dig waaay back for this one to a voice I grew up listening to, grew up idolizing and wanting to sing like (no, I don’t btw), Miss Peggy Lee
