The Future – Found Poetry

Future

Drifting paper thin
scream no one to hear
spark the night fire
baby burst, don’t feel
replace the future hurricane
rainbow doors are closed
leave ’em brighter through the fire

Final Found Poetry February. Wow I can’t believe it’s the last day of February already. This last piece is an example of “cut out” poetry. I have a real love of words, different fonts, colors and meanings. So whenever I come across a word in a magazine or an ad or whatever, I cut it out. Then I put them together to form tiny little poems. This one is on a coloring page I did for Escapists Coloring Challenge. Mindful coloring is a lovely, serene activity and frankly, I need to do more of it. Check out the challenge and grab some crayons and join us.

The Fact of Use

the fact of use

The Fact of Use

Work, find position
listen to the fact of use
my ability low down
I do not believe

For today’s Found Poetry February, I have created a doditsu from song lyrics. Doditsu is a Japanese poetry form of four lines, syllable structure 7,7,7,5.

The Violet Admonition of Thunder

2.22.19 FPF

I’ve always said that there is poetry to be found everywhere. You just have to look for it, in your inbox, on the refrigerator, or sometimes hanging from the underside of a dock. And sometimes, it’s perfect just the way it is. So for the 22nd Found Poetry February, this beauty.

Blue rain from a clear sky.
Our world a cube of sunlight –
but to the South
the violet admonition
of thunder.

Concrete Design

Concrete Design

The aged white settler
skin dyed rough brown
surviving on earliest farmland
produced his great masterpiece
with ancestral fascination
but today concrete design
built occupation’s cold future

For Found Poetry February day 21, a little poem from a magnetic word board found at the Wellington Museum. The museum is a delightful little trip through space and time. Click here to find out more.
