Prairie Wind – a Crimson Creative Challenge

CCC 8.2.19

Prairie Wind

A warm wind blows
across the prairie tonight
making ripples and waves
in the summer grass
tiny sparrows dart
through seas of slender reeds
dodging the billowing surf
of golden seed tips
reeds bend in the breeze,
their tops heavy with seed
with eager anticipation
of the coming autumn
when at last they will release
their heavy burden
to blow free across the prairie

So many books, so little time

journals 1

It’s no surprise that I read, like A LOT. My reading goal for 2019 is 52 books and I’m happy to say I’m well on my way. I also read a lot of different genres as you’ll see. So here’s what I read in February 2019, and a brief description

* Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert – Genre: Lifestyle
Description: Oh happy day, finally someone has written a book about how much FUN a creative life can be, why, and how. I thoroughly enjoyed the book which displays Gilbert’s insightful, witty style perfectly. Continue reading “So many books, so little time”

Spoonie Saturday – new creative outlets

Anybody who’s followed me for awhile knows I’m a spoonie and a little bit of what that entails. Sometimes we spoonies need to explore a different creative channel and this year I’m trying to do just that. So imagine my delight when I found the Escapist Coloring Club over at lindaghill.com. Awesome! I love to color, it’s relaxing and creative and … did I mention it’s coloring? How cool is that.

I do art journal pages including some sort of art, usually collages, drawings, bits from colored pages etc. and the add some sort of writing, poetry, story, musings, etc. So for the first Saturday of the January Escapist Coloring Club Challenge, here’s what I’m working on. Somewhere along the way this month, I’ll show you some examples of what I do with these “art works” I create.

My January Coloring Project:

As you can see, I started simple. Check it out and join in the fun!
