Monday Window – Looking Through

1.6.20 Wellington
Stained glass window preserved at the Wellington Museum – Wellington, NZ

Ludwig is hosting the first Monday Window challenge for 2020, come on over and see some fabulous windows. I took this shot last winter while on holiday in Wellington, NZ. It always makes me feel warm to look at it when the weather here is cold and windy.

Look Through the Window

I watch the light shine through bits of colored glass
A kaleidoscope of colors, patterns dance across the floor
Like memories in bits and pieces, each beautiful alone
but together becoming something more
A work of art, shining illumination for all the world
while I ponder what the new year holds in store

Monday Windows – It’s Remarkable

Isn’t it remarkable how a sound
can fill your heart with light
Even more so when it’s the sound
of your own voice lifted in song
for the first time, in a long time

Isn’t it remarkable how the year
now gone, passes into history
I look out the window and a new year
lies before me like new fallen snow
filled with the promise of
remarkable things
