Spoonie Sunday – Life Tools – Escapist Coloring

I’m spending some time examining the concept of a life tool box, as outlined by Chris of Cee-chris.com

This week has been a bit “off” for me. I had minor surgery and, while certainly not serious, required general anesthesia which is always hard on my system. I’m recovering just fine thanks, so this week has been a lot about ‘taking it easy’. Continue reading “Spoonie Sunday – Life Tools – Escapist Coloring”

Escapist Coloring Challenge – February’s gone, March on the way!

Here is my COMPLETED February project! Yeah me, I have completed two coloring pictures, on schedule. I really am so very grateful to Lindaghill.com for this great challenge. It’s so easy in the business of life to forget to take a few minutes, put on some fab music, and just chill. Having a deadline keeps me accountable and has really helped my “mindful coloring” meditation. I just let my mind go blank and focus on the colors and the page. So thanks to all of my fellow colorers and, if you haven’t taken up this challenge yet, come on and join in this ever so serene activity. Without further gilding of the lily, voila, I call it “balloons.”

Til next time ~Peace ~JPP

Final Found Poetry February. Wow I can’t believe it’s the last day of February already. This last piece is an example of “cut out” poetry. I have a real love of words, different fonts, colors and meanings. So whenever I come across a word in a magazine or an ad or whatever, I cut it out. Then I put them together to form tiny little poems. This one is on a coloring page I did for Escapists Coloring Challenge. Mindful coloring is a lovely, serene activity and frankly, I need to do more of it. Check out the challenge and grab some crayons and join us.

Greetings fellow spoonies, friends of spoonies, and not really spoonies. If you’re not acquainted with what a spoonie is, here’s an explanation from the big book of wikipedia: What is a Spoonie

Today finds me in a place I love, but coming down with a cold. When you’re a spoonie, even a mostly recovered, no longer in danger of hospitalization spoonie, there is always a ghost in the machine. The specter of chronic disease haunts our daily lives. Today is about as much rest and care as possible because in two days I will begin the trek back “home” to finish out the worst of winter and pick up our RV before making yet ANOTHER trip back up to SD for the summer. Spoonie Saturday – Escapist Coloring Challenge

This is my January Escapist Coloring Challenge piece brought to us by Lindaghill.com   I finally got it finished. Coloring is an awesome way to relax, it leaves the mind free to wander, roam, or meditate. It has vast recuperative powers for mind, body and spirit all of which are very important, particularly Spoonies.
