For Maria Antonia’s 2020 Picoftheweek photo challenge, my prompt for this week is “blue skies” and for Open Link Night at dVerse Poets Pub, Grace is hosting pop on over and discover something new.

Trip to Loch Lomond
For too long the city air
has seared my lungs
and choked my soul
so away I go
to the Highlands
to clear the air
and free my heart
on the bonnie, bonnie banks
of Loch Lomond
The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond — Ella Roberts

Beautiful song and poem to match.

Thanks so much Frank. When I first saw Loch Lomond I was so very moved. Such history, such feeling. 🙂

I sometimes take it for granted, until I visit a city and then it’s wham – need air! 😊

Lovely song, wonderful place. I wonder, did God give us the highlands to be a balm for our souls?

As a being Scott! And a Scotsman by birth myself, certainly can’t argue with any of that, JP. Made me smile…

So glad you like it. Ella Roberts has such a wonderful voice for what I call the “olde songs” such a haunting melody.
