For some reason this picture brought memories of a friend we lost last year at the age of 14. Of a time when the world boils down to a simple question that has no answer. For the What do you see challenge, with a nod for inspiration to dVerse Prosery.
Moments for Choices
There are moments
caught between heartbeats
when stars blur into
faded light on dirty streets
In the middle of blizzard
spaces between snowflakes fill
with silence between the tears
of soul chilling heartbreak
when the world boils down to words
that all seem so absurd
and all the vision fades from sight
which one do you want
the brown coffin, or the white?

Devasting is the only word that comes to mind to lose a youngster. Condolences on the young person’s passing, JP. I can’t hear that song without thinking of Eric’s lost child 😦

Me too. We played it at my Mom’s funeral.

Thank you so much. No one should ever lose a child. It was all the more heartbreaking because he fought so hard all his life. He was diagnosed at 2.
