So Rory’s The Really You question game is going strong. This week has some doozies
Are you ageing gracefully?
Depends on what you call gracefully. I’ve had 7 surgeries/surgical procedures in the past two years. Yeah I’ve got stuff giving out, breaking up, and well, you get the idea. The idea behind each one of these “procedures” has been to “extend my quality life.” At 60, I had the knees of a 103 year old woman, now I have the knees of the bionic woman and I can tell you that it has made a HUGE difference in my life. I can walk again!! So gracefully? Not so much, I’m fighting it every inch of the way.
When younger than you are now, did you ever wish yourself older and did you wonder how well you might be faring?
When I was 17, I wanted to be 21 because that’s what age I thought of as “adult.” When I turned 21, I was like “hmpf is that all there is?” I never really wondered how well I’d do as I aged, frankly I never expected to live this long.
Halve your current age today and thinking back to that younger half age if you were to write a note you other older half of life as a heads up, what would you say?
“I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry for everything I put us through. Thank you for not giving up, even when I know you really, really wanted to. Oh yeah and p.s. dump that stupid uterus the minute you can.”
So there you go, three question, three answers. Feel enlightened? Yeah, me too.
Til next time ~Peace ~JPP
I like the quote. With every birthday I offer thanks that that’s another year I’ve survived. So many do not.
