31 days of October Challenge – Black Cats

31 days October

Today’s 31 days of October Challenge is brought to you by the rantings and ravings of my own mind spurred by Melanie at Sparksfromacombustiblemind who has some really creepy phobias (I’m right there with you on clowns girl).

I can’t think of Halloween without remembering my black cats. I’ve had several. Boo Boo was probably my favorite, so black she was almost red, slitted, creepy yellow eyes. The very thing cat phobias are made of but she was adorable and precious. Anyone who has ever had a cat partner will tell you, nobody owns a cat, especially a black cat.

Black Cats

She was black and sleek
with slitted yellow eyes
that stare but never blink

on silent feet she prowls
like a shadow in the night
piercing cries, unearthly yowls

nemesis to mole and rat
this tiny stalking panther
is my own black cat

black cats
from my polyvore collection

And for a little MORE fun …

BLACK CAT COCKTAIL

1 ounce vodka
1 ounce cherry brandy
3 ounces cranberry juice (more or less as needed)
3 ounces cola (more or less as needed)

In a highball glass, add ice, pour vodka and cherry brandy over, add equal amounts cranberry juice and cola.

Til next time ~Peace ~JPP

  1. I’m glad I provided a little spooky ‘inspiration!” 😀 I did a black cat post for this challenge one of the days…lots of me-me pictures, one of which stated “Black Cat – A way to own a mini-panther!” I have dogs, not cats, as I’m allergic to the felines, but I have great respect for them. They’re beautiful. ❤
