Today Lillian at dVerse Poets asks us for a quadrille based on “the 10th most beautiful word in the English language was identified as tranquility. So – that’s the word for today’s Quadrille. You must include the word tranquility, or a form of the word, in a poem of exactly 44 words, sans title.” Quite a challenge – I’m game how about you?
Ode to Autumn – a Quadrille
the sky shines bright and blue
leaves dance on gentle breezes
tranquility abounds
like the precious golds
and softer browns
too soon will come the cold nights
and the depth of winter slumber
but today with autumn’s
gentle kiss
we say goodbye to summer
Word count 44
Til next time ~Peace ~JPP
But I don’t want to say goodbye. I have memories of winter being cold.

Loving this! Most especially the words “depth of winter’s slumber” – that describes winter so well!! Also really like the cadence and rhyming here.
