Imagination Plantation a Hullaballu

imagination-plantation-1

I was tagged for the imagination plantation challenge by Di at pensitivity101 for the challenge that originated with Nova Namaste, thanks it was fun. The first thing that struck me was the commotion of the piece and it’s child-like energy. Thus was born a Dr. Seussish little ditty.

A Midsummer’s Day

On a mid summer’s day
in the land of Hullabalu
Sandy was walking
and talking with Booou

“It’s a fine sort of day
everyone’s out and about,”
Sandy said to Booou
raising her voice to a shout

Booou frowned in reply
“there’s just too much noise
from helicopters and trains
from all the girls and boys”

Sandy said “come let’s leave
the city’s noisy crowds far behind
venture out into the forest
who knows what we’ll find.”

That’s just what they did
and do you know what they found?
No shouts, no horns honking
just a whisper of sound

The most beautiful melody
lilting along on the breeze
the song of the forest
wafting soft through the trees
