How long? How long had she been doing this? Sarah looked down from her lofty perch atop the Ferris Wheel. As the neon glare all but blocked out the stars, Sarah reminisced about a time when it was not so. So long ago when this had been flat farm land. Before the touch of modern buildings and streets it had been beautiful.
Sarah sighed, how she missed the trappings of ages long gone. Her short Katana blade, concealed by a long leather duster, was all that remained of her old life. Sometimes being an immortal just sucked.

hahaha, yes, only one. What a lonely concept though. 😉

It was a nod to The Highlander series, where they are immortal but only one can exist in a certain time at a time (or something like that, it’s been awhile…)

It was the final “gathering” where the last of the immortals gathered to wreak havoc upon each other until only one survived. That one would receive the prize. Although I loved the original movie and the series, I always thought what a lonely life it must be. In the original movie when Ramirez (Sean Connery) talked about Shakikko (his wife) and the loss, I always thought that would be the really sucky part of immortality to see the world change, lose the ones you love and have no ability to change that outcome.

I’ve been watching videos of “The Librarians,” and have been caught by the not-so-great aspects of human immortality. Yeah, I think I’m happy being mortal 🙂

Oh me too! I just don’t think it would be so great. I watched the movie “Jupiter Ascending” which was really about the cost of immortality. Ugh!
