30 Day Song Challenge – Day 14

30 day song challenge

I have a feeling that this prompt may have been intended for folks younger than I. Or at least those who haven’t been married forever. But, that said. I’d love to have this one by Kenny Chesney played because it’s exactly what happened to me. I knew the moment I laid eyes on Superhubs. It took him a little longer to figure it out.

You Had Me From Hello

One word, that’s all you said,
Something in your voice caused me to turn my head.
Your smile just captured me, you were in my future as far as I could see.
And I don’t know how it happened, but it happens still.
You ask me if I love you, if I always will

Well, you had me from “Hello”
I felt love start to grow
the moment that I looked into your eyes, you won me
it was over from the start, you completely stole my heart,
and now you won’t let go.
I never even had a chance you know
You had me from “Hello”

Inside I built a wall
so high around my heart, I thought I’d never fall.
One touch, you brought it down
The bricks of my defenses scattered on the ground
And I swore to me I wasn’t gonna’ love again
The last time was the last time I’d let someone in

But, you had me from “Hello”
I felt love start to grow
the moment I looked into your eyes, you won me,
it was over from the start
You completely stole my heart, and now you won’t let go
I never even had a chance you know
You had me from “Hello”

That’s all you said
Something in your voice caused me to turn my head
You had me from “Hello”
You had me from “Hello”
Girl, I’ve loved you from “Hello”

Songwriters: Skip Ewing and Kenny Chesney

~ all lyrics are the product of my memory. Any discrepancies or divergences from actual fact should not be viewed as errors but as all natural variations proving that I did, in fact, live through the 60’s.

Til next time ~Peace ~JPP
