My offering for the Flash Fiction 100 Word Story Challenge – Friendship
“You are quite possibly the weirdest man I have ever met.”
“So are you,” hazel eyes winking with laughter.
“But I kind of like it.”
“Yeah, me too.”
And so we came together and practiced our mutual weirdness. Over the years, we laughed, we cried, we sang silly songs. Strangers watched and shook their heads, “those are the two weirdest people I’ve ever seen,” they would say. They laughed at us because we were so different. We pitied them because they were all the same.
Through it all, we held on to our weirdness and knew that it was love.
